First Working Meeting of the 5GDNA Multimedia Group
The 5G deterministic networking alliance successfully held the first working meeting of the multimedia group at Beijing, Aug 15. This meeting focused on the application practices and exploration of the multimedia industry and discussed the scenario requirements, network construction ideas, and development directions of the multimedia industry in the 5G era, to build a 5G deterministic networking industry ecosystem.

During MWC Shanghai, more than 30 industry partners established the 5G deterministic networking alliance. The alliance aims to promote open collaboration between upstream and downstream industries, incubate industry best practices, promote healthy and sustainable development of the industry, continuously promote industry consensus and ecosystem construction, and accelerate 5G industry development.

At the conference, guests from China Sports Media, Letin VR, Cyber Cloud, Blaz, and Wangsu Science and Technology shared their experience in exploring the application of 5G deterministic networking, such as live broadcast, VR, cloud gaming, AR, and CDN. China Unicom shared its multimedia applications and network construction for the 2022 Winter Olympics. China Telecom shared its thoughts on 5G multimedia network construction. Huawei introduced MEC application development in detail. The meeting has communicated and discussed about the market insights, scenario requirements, practical experience, and development direction of the multimedia industry, and has reached a consensus on the development of the 5G multimedia industry. The meeting has also planned and arranged for the next stage of work, including 5G multimedia innovation labs, 5G live broadcast business showcases, and VR/AR/cloud gaming/CDN applications of 5G edge computing.

Next, the multimedia group of the 5G deterministic networking alliance will take the business showcase as the goal, deepen communication and cooperation, and jointly build a 5G deterministic networking industry ecosystem to promote the rapid application of 5G in the multimedia industry, seize the innovation opportunities brought by 5G, and create an intelligent future.

More than 30 representatives from 17 units attended the meeting, including Communications World, China Media Group, China Unicom, China Telecom, Migu, China Sports Media, Wangsu Science and Technology, Letin VR, Cyber Cloud, Gloud, Haima Cloud, Blaz, Camluni, Arcvideo, 4K Garden, Digital Kingdom, and Huawei.
