Research Direction: Traditional advertising screens are transforming from video ads and 2D print ads to more interesting and accurate two-way AR interactive ads. The 5G deterministic networking will accelerate the transformation of advertising screens from the traditional all-in-one machine offline mode to the agile operation online mode.
Research Results: Traditional advertising screens are transforming from video ads and 2D print ads to more interesting and accurate two-way AR interactive ads. The low latency of the 5G deterministic networking (5GDN) ensures real-time graphics and image computing of AR interactive advertising applications, intelligent identification of end users, and flexible deployment and operation. The precise positioning capability enables AR applications to precisely place ads based on users' locations. The 5G deterministic networking will accelerate the transformation of advertising screens from the traditional all-in-one machine offline mode to the agile operation online mode.
In
October 2019, Huawei and Blaz jointly conducted the first PoC test for the 5G
MEC+AR advertising screen application solution in Huawei cLab, which exceeded
the expected experience.
In
December 2019, Huawei, Blaz, and China Mobile Shenzhen Branch demonstrated the
first 5G MEC+AR advertising screen application at the Shenzhen Airport, and
successfully participated in the Shenzhen Future Airport Summit of the Civil
Aviation Administration of China. The experience and praise of the participants
were widely received.
